How to crop image
- Open one imageCropping works on a single photo at a time — the right frame is different for every picture, so a batch setting would not make sense.
- Drag out the area you wantPull the corners to resize, drag from inside to move the whole box, or drag on empty space to start a fresh selection.

When you need it
A photo has to be square
Profile pictures and marketplace listings usually want 1:1, and cropping deliberately beats letting a site cut it for you.
Something unwanted is in frame
A stray hand, a car, a background you would rather not share — cropping removes it entirely rather than covering it.
The subject is too small
Cropping in tight is the honest way to enlarge a subject: you are keeping real pixels rather than inventing new ones.
Questions
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. Cropping keeps the original pixels inside your selection and discards the rest — the part you keep is untouched. The file gets smaller because there is less of it, not because anything was compressed.
Why can I only crop one image at a time?
Because the right crop depends on what is in the picture, and that changes with every photo. Applying one rectangle to a batch would ruin most of them.
What do the ratio options do?
They lock the shape of the selection. With 1:1 chosen, the box stays square no matter how you drag it, so you cannot end up slightly off. Free lets you pull any shape.
Can I crop into a circle?
Not here — this tool cuts rectangles. For a round avatar with a transparent background, use circle crop instead.
Is my photo uploaded while I crop it?
No. The image is decoded and drawn inside your browser, and the crop happens on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

How it works
Every tool here runs on the HTML Canvas API inside your own browser. When you drop a file, it is read straight into memory, changed there, and handed back as a download. Not one byte goes over the network — which is why there is no upload wait, no file size cap, and no way for anyone, including us, to see your images.
That also means the tools keep working with no connection once the page has loaded, and the only limit on file size is your device's memory.
