About ICO and PNG
ICO is the Windows icon format, and still what browsers look for at favicon.ico. It can hold several sizes in one file, and browsers treat it as a special case rather than a normal image. PNG keeps every pixel exactly as it was and supports transparency, which makes it large but reliable. Converting ICO to PNG here happens on your own device: the file is decoded, redrawn and re-encoded in the browser, then handed straight back to you. PNG is lossless, so the result keeps every pixel — expect the file to be larger than the original.
Note: an ICO file can contain several sizes. Your browser picks the largest one it finds, and that is what gets converted.

Every tool here runs on the HTML Canvas API inside your own browser. When you drop a file, it is read straight into memory, changed there, and handed back as a download. Not one byte goes over the network — which is why there is no upload wait, no file size cap, and no way for anyone, including us, to see your images.
That also means the tools keep working with no connection once the page has loaded, and the only limit on file size is your device's memory.
