About JFIF and JPG
JFIF is a JPEG under a different extension. Windows sometimes saves images this way, and some programs then refuse to open them even though the contents are ordinary JPEG data. JPG is the format almost everything can open. It throws away some detail to keep files small. Converting JFIF to JPG here happens on your own device: the file is decoded, redrawn and re-encoded in the browser, then handed straight back to you. Because JPG is a compressed format, you can trade a little detail for a smaller file using the quality slider.

Every tool here runs on the HTML Canvas API inside your own browser. When you drop a file, it is read straight into memory, changed there, and handed back as a download. Not one byte goes over the network — which is why there is no upload wait, no file size cap, and no way for anyone, including us, to see your images.
That also means the tools keep working with no connection once the page has loaded, and the only limit on file size is your device's memory.
