How to qr code generator

  1. Type or paste what the code should holdA web address is the usual thing, but plain text, a phone number or an email address all work.
  2. Choose a size1024 px suits screens and normal printing. Go to 2048 px for anything large — a poster, a sign, a menu board.
  3. Set the damage toleranceHigher tolerance means the code still scans when part of it is dirty, creased or covered. Pick the highest setting if you plan to place a logo in the middle.
  4. Download PNG or SVGPNG for screens and quick use. SVG for print — it is made of shapes rather than pixels, so it stays sharp at any size.

When you need it

Putting a link on something physical

Posters, business cards, packaging, menus. A code saves people typing an address by hand.

Sharing a link on screen

A code on a slide or a video lets an audience reach the page from their own phone.

You want a code that outlives the service that made it

Codes from tracking services stop working when that service does. This one holds your address directly.

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The address is encoded into the pattern itself, so the code points straight at your link with nothing in between. It works for as long as your link does — this site could disappear tomorrow and every code it made would keep working.

Can anyone see how many people scanned it?

No, and neither can we. Many QR generators produce a code that points at their own server, which then forwards the visitor onwards. That lets them count scans and, in some cases, change where the code leads later. This one has no middle step, so there is nothing to count and nothing to change.

What is damage tolerance, and what should I pick?

QR codes carry spare data so they can still be read when part of the pattern is unreadable. Higher tolerance means more spare data, a denser pattern, and a code that survives more abuse. Medium is right for screens and clean printing. Choose the highest setting if the code will sit outdoors, on packaging, or under a logo.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG for anything on a screen or printed small. SVG if it is going to a printer or a large format — it is stored as shapes, so it can be scaled to any size without softening.

Can I put my logo in the middle?

Not in this tool, but you can afterwards: generate the code at the highest damage tolerance, then place a logo over the centre in any image editor. Keep it under about a fifth of the width and test the result with a phone before printing.

Why is my code not scanning?

Usually contrast or size. Dark on light is what scanners expect — reversing it stops many readers working. Keep the quiet zone (the blank margin) rather than cropping it, and remember that a very long link makes a dense pattern that needs to be printed larger.

How it works

Every tool here runs on the HTML Canvas API inside your own browser. When you drop a file, it is read straight into memory, changed there, and handed back as a download. Not one byte goes over the network — which is why there is no upload wait, no file size cap, and no way for anyone, including us, to see your images.

That also means the tools keep working with no connection once the page has loaded, and the only limit on file size is your device's memory.
